Patmos 1st Ecology Festival
17–23 October 2022
We exchange personal time for the common good.
Seven days dedicated to ecology and centred on the creation of a healthy ecosystem on Koumas hill.
Programme of activities
- Monday, 17 October, 17:00 — Presentation of the festival programme at the Conference of Ideas. We are creating the mental foundation for our developing work, followed by a film screening about the environment.
- Tuesday, 18 October, 16:00 — Collecting forest-tree seeds inside the Patoinos vineyards for planting at Koumas in the following days. The bus leaves Skala at 15:30 for Groikos.
- Wednesday, 19 October, 15:45 — Planting young oak trees in the forest between Chora and Skala. Meeting point: the entrance to the Monastery of the Apocalypse.
- Thursday, 20 October, 06:30–18:30 — Producing and sowing seed balls at Koumas.
12:00 — Open seed-ball-making seminar for all ages at Saint John’s beach in Skala, with natural farmer and philosopher Nikos Tsombanoglou. - Friday, 21 October, 06:30–18:30 — Producing and sowing seed balls at Koumas.
- Saturday, 22 October, 06:30–18:30 — Producing and sowing seed balls at Koumas.
- Sunday, 23 October, 10:00 — 5 km running and walking race from Skala’s main square to the seed-bombing site at Koumas via the main road, returning via the road that crosses Meloi beach.
12:00–16:30 — Completing the seed-bombing process at Koumas.
17:00 — Communal meal to celebrate the end of this year’s festival.
