Eleonora's falcon (Falco eleonorae) — the first Community of Trees project.

DocumentaryAndros

In 2016 Community of Trees completed its first project: a documentary about Eleonora's Falcon and the measures taken by the Andros LIFE programme to address urgent threats to its breeding and feeding habitats.

More than three quarters of the world's Eleonora's falcon population breeds in Greece each summer after migrating from Madagascar. This gives Greece a major responsibility for its protection.

The documentary formed part of a public awareness campaign that presented the project's approach and results to local communities, visitors, and the public.

Eleonora's Falcon, like other species at the top of the food chain, is sensitive to changes in environmental balance. Its breeding sites require protection from threats such as pesticide use.
